About The Faculty
SIMAD was Initially established as an institute on November 6, 1999, it began its operations with great enthusiasm. This trajectory reached a significant milestone on January 20, 2011, when the Board of Trustees of the former Somali Institute of Management and Administration Development (SIMAD) approved its transformation into a full-fledged university.
Before this transformative decision, our faculty consisted of the Accounting and Business Administration programs, which later evolved into the Faculty of Business and Accountancy. However, in 2015, the top management of SIMAD University decided to rebrand the faculty, resulting in the birth of the Faculty of Management Sciences. This change aimed to reflect the broader range of disciplines and expertise offered within the faculty.
To further expand our academic offerings, we introduced two additional programs. In 2013 the Bachelor of Banking and Finance program was launched, providing a comprehensive understanding of the financial industry. Subsequently, in 2014 the Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics program was introduced, equipping students with the necessary skills to excel in the fields of procurement and supply chain management.
As our faculty continued to thrive, we remained dedicated to staying at the forefront of education. In 2023, we proudly expanded our program portfolio once again. Two exciting additions were made: the Bachelor of Digital Marketing program, focusing on the dynamic world of online marketing, and the Bachelor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation program, designed to nurture the next generation of innovative entrepreneurs.
Today, the Faculty of Management Sciences stands as one of the largest and most prominent faculties within SIMAD University. It offers a comprehensive range of five programs, encompassing Business Administration, Banking and finance, Procurement, & Logistic Management, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management, and Digital Marketing. This diverse array of programs caters to the varied interests and aspirations of students, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the ever-changing field of management
